The Chery Tiggo 9 is a new mid-size SUV under Chery Automobile. In January 2023, official images of the Chery Tiggo 9 were released, positioning it as the flagship SUV of the Chery brand. On May 30th, Chery Automobile officially announced via its official social media account that the TIGGO Tiggo 9 was globally launched.

The Tiggo 9 comes equipped with CDC “magnetic suspension” on its four-wheel-drive models. By utilizing 5 vehicle status monitoring sensors, 4 electromagnetic shock absorbers, and 1 controller, it dynamically adjusts the vehicle’s posture in real-time, ensuring a comfortable driving experience at all times, achieving “superior stability and comfort”. Centered around “comfortable handling”, the new vehicle is equipped with two powertrain options: the Koenigsegg Power 400T + Aisin 8AT or the Koenigsegg Power 400T + Magna’s latest generation 7DCT wet dual-clutch transmission. Among them, the Koenigsegg Power 2.0T engine is recognized as one of the “Top Ten Engines of China’s Heart”, boasting a maximum power of 192 kW, a peak torque of 400 Nm, and accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in 8 seconds.

The 2.0T engine equipped in the Chery Tiggo 9 is quite distinctive, as it can run on two types of gasoline: 92-octane and 95-octane. When using 92-octane gasoline, the maximum power output is 187 kW, with a peak torque of 390 Nm. When using 95-octane gasoline, the maximum power output increases to 192 kW, with a peak torque of 400 Nm.

The transmission system is expected to be paired with either the Geely Getrag 7-speed wet dual-clutch transmission or the self-developed 8-speed automatic transmission (FA840). Higher trim models are equipped with an on-demand four-wheel-drive system.

In terms of wheel and tire configuration, except for the base model, all other trim levels of the Tiggo 9 feature 20-inch painted and polished combination wheels. The test drive models are equipped with Michelin e-PRIMACY series tires with a size of 245/50R20, and a non-full-size spare tire is provided.
