Changan EADO

The EADO (EADO) is derived from strong research and development capabilities and the support of global suppliers, reflected in its product design, materials, and craftsmanship, showcasing a new sense of quality. It is equipped with the new generation Bluecore high-efficiency engine, utilizing DVVT/IVVT technology, and possesses three major advantages: “powerful, clean, and quiet.” With a focus on surpassing the wheelbase and width of its segment, it also features high-level precision suspension and front subframe design, as well as a robust chassis with high rigidity, resulting in enhanced power and maneuverability.

Description

The Changan EADO is a global strategic vehicle developed by Changan Motors’ global R&D team over a period of three years. It is a globally positioned high-end midsize sedan. On March 27, 2012, Changan Motors, an independent brand, officially announced the launch of their new sedan, the EADO.

On March 6, 2015, the Changan EADO pure electric model was officially released. It features a minimalistic overall design, representing the epitome of excellence by integrating European style and international popular elements. It combines aesthetics with exquisite craftsmanship, focusing on sharpness and incorporating dynamic and fashionable elements into its details. The new car was available in two models.

On March 7, 2018, Changan Motors held the national media test drive event for the second generation EADO and EADO DT under the theme “Elegant Charm, Enjoy Life.” Both models were officially launched at the end of March.

The change in the steering wheel is a highlight, as many domestic brands often use uniformly purchased steering wheels to reduce costs. Therefore, it is common to see certain brand models using the same steering wheel or a limited number of options. However, the steering wheel of the EADO is clearly designed specifically for the model. The lines on the steering wheel resemble those on the front grille, and there are also some similarities with Changan’s new logo. This detail indicates that Changan has put a lot of effort into the design of the EADO.

In terms of materials and craftsmanship, it can be best described as “significant progress, but with room for further improvement.” I have driven some of Changan’s previous models, including popular ones like the Yuexiang and Benben. Compared to its predecessors, the EADO’s interior has made a qualitative leap in terms of craftsmanship and materials. Especially in terms of the touch and craftsmanship of various buttons in the car, there has been a significant improvement. The complex audio control console is the best proof of this. Previously, for most domestic brands, it was difficult to achieve such a dense arrangement of buttons with consistent gaps between them.
