Hongqi H9 will be equipped with two engine options: a 2.0T turbocharged engine with a 48V mild hybrid system and a 3.0TV6 mechanically supercharged engine. The 2.0T engine is available in a high-power version with a maximum output of 252 horsepower and a peak torque of 380 N·m. The 3.0TV6 engine delivers 283 horsepower and 400 N·m of torque. In terms of transmission, the 3.0T model is equipped with a DCT400 7-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Furthermore, the Hongqi H9 adopts a longitudinal rear-wheel-drive layout and is equipped with an air suspension system to ensure passenger comfort during travel.
