The MG ZS is MG’s first Internet SUV model, which was officially launched on March 4, 2017. It has been introduced in over 36 countries and regions worldwide, including Australia, the UK, Thailand, India, the Middle East, Brunei, Egypt, Chile, Sri Lanka, Nepal, and others. Within two years, its sales exceeded 250,000 units across four continents, and it has consistently topped SUV sales charts in niche markets like the UK and Thailand.

On September 10-22, 2019, the all-new generation MG ZS made its debut at the 68th Frankfurt International Motor Show. It became the world’s first SUV to feature Bosch’s latest “MG Pilot L2+” intelligent driving system, presenting itself as a global smart sports SUV with a focus on “high aesthetics, sportiness, and black technology”. It aims to offer a new experience in smart sports SUV trends for young people worldwide, emphasizing aesthetics, power, safety, and intelligence.

On October 12, 2019, the all-new generation MG ZS achieved a remarkable feat by completing a 0-100km/h-0 acceleration and deceleration challenge in just 6.1 seconds on the deck of the 195-meter-long Kiev-class aircraft carrier. This made it the world’s first vehicle to successfully complete a hundred-kilometer acceleration and deceleration challenge on an aircraft carrier deck.

The all-new MG ZS comes standard with full LED Silverstone headlights and is equipped with SAIC Alibaba’s latest generation Zebra Intelligent Driving 3.0 system, providing owners with a range of convenient and practical features. Additionally, it is among the first in its class of high-end compact SUVs to adopt L2-level autonomous driving technology. It features an adjustable EPS electronic power steering system that offers three different driving modes: normal, light, and stable, allowing drivers to switch between modes based on road conditions.

The MG ZS is equipped with a series of features including a 6-way power-adjustable driver’s seat, power-folding exterior mirrors, and rear central headrests. The ESP electronic stability control system is standard across the range.

For remote control via smartphone, the MG ZS can be precisely coordinated with a mobile device, allowing for one-touch control of the vehicle’s locks and trunk, as well as remote vehicle location tracking.

In terms of powertrain, the all-new MG ZS is equipped with the new 260TGI twin-injection turbocharged engine, boasting a maximum power of 160 horsepower, with specific power reaching the highest level in its class at 125 horsepower per liter. Its maximum torque is 230 Newton-meters, delivering strong power output. Paired with this engine is the latest generation Aisin 6AT gearbox, the only one in its class, enabling the new car to accelerate from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 8.51 seconds, with a braking distance of only 36.9 meters from 100 km/h to 0.

Another engine option available with the all-new MG ZS is the 1.5L engine, delivering a maximum power of 120 horsepower and a peak torque of 150 Newton-meters. It can be paired with either a CVT intelligent continuously variable transmission or a 5-speed manual transmission. Its fuel consumption rating by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) is as low as 6.1 liters per 100 kilometers.

For the driving system, the all-new MG ZS is equipped with the MG PILOT L2 intelligent active driving assistance system. It achieves active lane centering throughout the speed range, as well as functions such as following and stopping, following the steering of the preceding vehicle, and achieving automatic control of throttle, brake, and steering within 30 seconds of hands-free driving. It complies with 385 specifications for complex road conditions, including Traffic Jam Assist (TJA), Integrated High-Speed Intelligent Cruise Assist (ICA), ACC Full-Speed Adaptive Cruise Control, AEB Automatic Emergency Braking System, and LKA Active Lane Centering System, among others. These features collectively provide a safe and comfortable driving experience in congested traffic and on highways, making it the first high-end compact SUV to adopt L2-level autonomous driving technology.
