The NIO ES6 is a high-performance, long-range intelligent electric SUV introduced by NIO at the NIO Day 2018 event held at the Shanghai Oriental Sports Center. The ES6 is positioned as a mid-size pure electric SUV with a five-seat layout. It comes standard with a 70 kWh ternary lithium battery pack and offers an optional 84 kWh nickel-cobalt-manganese (NCM811) battery pack. There are a total of six models available, including the Standard Edition, Performance Edition, and the inaugural Founder’s Edition. The ES6 achieves a fastest 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.7 seconds and has a maximum NEDC-rated range of 510 kilometers.

The interior layout of the ES6 follows a similar pattern, with a resemblance of over 90% to the ES8. It features a continuous air vent design, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, and a button layout that is very similar to the ES8. However, the ES6’s central touchscreen display has been upgraded from the ES8’s 10.4-inch screen to an 11.3-inch screen, giving it a more impressive appearance. There are also some differences in details, such as the design of the air vents, the shape of the three-spoke steering wheel, and the layout of the multifunction buttons. Additionally, the center console of the new vehicle extensively uses soft materials, and all models come standard with leather seats, providing a high-quality texture.
