Wuling Journey is a brand-new pickup truck model under SAIC-GM-Wuling. On January 18, 2021, the Wuling brand announced the official name of the new vehicle as Wuling Journey, positioning it as a youthful pickup truck to meet the diverse needs of young entrepreneurs and adventurers. On February 22, 2021, the Wuling Journey started its pre-sale activities, offering two models: the Enterprising Edition and the Pioneering Edition. Then, on March 18, 2021, SAIC-GM-Wuling officially launched its first youthful pickup truck, the Wuling Journey, introducing two models: the Enterprising Edition and the Pioneering Edition.

The journey ahead is long, but with determination, hence it is named Wuling Journey. Wuling Journey is a youthful pickup truck tailored for young strivers in new industries and scenarios, catering to their diverse needs for life and entrepreneurship. It adopts the design concept of “mechanical aesthetics.” The front grille is adorned with large chrome pieces, featuring a trapezoidal design with rectangular headlights on both sides. The dimensions of Wuling Journey’s body and windows follow the golden ratio, with lengths, widths, and heights of 5105/1640/1810mm respectively and a wheelbase of 3160mm. The cargo bed incorporates a modular gantry structure. In terms of color matching, Wuling Journey features coordinated designs on the emblem-style decorations on the fenders, gantry, and aluminum wheel calipers, complementing the body color.

The Wuling Journey comes equipped with an 8-inch entertainment and connectivity touchscreen, allowing for control via touch or voice commands to access functions such as online navigation and music playback, meeting leisure and entertainment needs.

In terms of safety features, the vehicle adopts a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive configuration, with a high-strength steel cage body structure in the passenger area, effectively protecting occupants. Standard safety features include driver’s side airbags, Bosch’s ninth-generation ABS+EBD brake assist system, and reverse parking sensors. The Explorer variant further includes a reverse camera and tire pressure monitoring function, ensuring comprehensive safety measures for users’ journeys.

The Wuling Journey pickup utilizes a front-engine, rear-wheel-drive layout, powered by a 1.5L engine paired with a 5-speed manual transmission, compliant with China’s National VI emission standards. This ensures ample power for daily driving while also prioritizing fuel efficiency, with a fuel consumption of only 7 liters per 100 kilometers.
